“Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I am doing a new thing.” Isaiah 43:18-19

After 146 years on Carroll Street, we are preparing for a new chapter in the history of Mandeville Bible Church! Our church was first established in 1876, and the fact that we are still here in 2022 is a testimony to God’s great faithfulness! Now we believe that God is “doing a new thing” in our church, leading us to move to a new location, where we will have plenty of room to grow.

Because we want to follow God’s lead, and not get ahead of Him, we’ve been taking this project one step at a time. We are moving on God’s timetable, not ours. In May 2019, we took a big step of faith when the congregation voted to purchase a piece of land located on Highway 1088 in Mandeville, about 1 mile south of Interstate 12. We entered into a contract to purchase that property in June 2019, and we closed on the property in January 2020, after getting it rezoned. Since then, we have demolished the buildings that were on the property, and we’ve had the property graded. As of January 2022, the property was fully paid off! Praise the Lord!

Throughout this entire process, we’ve been praying for God to guide us, and we believe that He is blessing our efforts as we seek to be the church that He has called us to be. We feel extremely blessed that God has enabled us to acquire such a beautiful piece of land! Our new property is in a prime location, and at 6.25 acres, it is large enough to meet our needs for generations to come.

We’ve been working with Greenleaf Lawson Architects (GLA) from Covington on a feasibility study and a site plan for our new property. Everything you see below is GLA’s work product – the amazing video, the 2-D site plan, and all the wonderful 3-D images. They’ve done a tremendous job in guiding us through this entire process, as well as in capturing the vision for our new church campus. We hope you like what you see!

Now that the land is paid for, we have entered the next phase of the design process. We are currently working with Greenleaf Lawson on the schematic design (floor plan) for our new building. Check back soon to see the design once it is completed!

So when do we break ground on the new building? When are we moving? We don’t know!! Only God knows the answers to those questions. Again, we are moving at “God-speed,” not at our own speed. Now that we have a site plan, the next steps are (1) raising funds to pay for the construction of Phase 1 (our new church building), and (2) designing the new building, complete with sanctuary, classrooms, fellowship/dining areas, offices, and kitchen. We will be forming a design team, made up of church members, to work with the architects during this design phase.

We are trusting God to provide the financial resources and everything else that we need to complete this project. We’ve established a “New Building Fund,” and people are already giving to it. Donations toward the building of our future home can be brought or mailed to Mandeville Bible Church, 217 Carroll Street, Mandeville, LA 70448. They can also be placed in the offering box/plate on Sunday morning. Please be sure to designate your donation for the “New Building Fund.”
